Kilmacow Wheelers are hosting their first sportive on Sunday 7th of February. The cycle is a 30km lap of the parish where cyclists have an option of a second lap for 60km. The route is reasonably flat and will suit all cyclists. Registration in the community hall from 9.15am and cycle starts at 10am. There will be marshals at every junction along with back up/lead vehicles, motor bikes and medical assistance all helping to ensure a safe ride and facilitate those who might want to up the pace for checking splits and segments!!
Some stars past and present in local sport are expected to take part adding to the atmosphere. There will be ample refreshments post the cycle for everyone to enjoy before heading home or further a field…
Registration is €10 and juniors €5. The proceeds are going to the Thomas Hayes trust ‘Teac Tom’ in Kilkenny and the cycle is part of a memorial weekend for Damien Upton. Angela Hayes will also be taking part in the cycle and will be setting us on our way at the start.
