2022 sees the return of Irelands Eurocycles-Eurobaby Junior Tour after a two year absence.
The race runs from Tuesday July 12th to Sunday July 17th around the picturesque County Clare.
Comeragh CC’s sole junior and representative is a young man who needs very little introduction; Hayden Power.
2021’s Under 16 road race champion and son of the 2 time Rás winner and double Olympian Ciarán Power. We asked Hayden a few questions in the lead-up to Tuesday’s start of the Junior Tour
Q Why and when did you take up cycling?
A I took up cycling when I was 6years old doing the Sean Kelly Tour in Dungarvan
Q Why and when did you join Comeragh CC?
A When I was 8yrs old I took out my first license, it was always going to be Comeragh CC, my grandad, dad, uncles and aunts were all members of Comeraghcc since 1988.
Q What has been your favourite moment since you took up cycling
A Winning the National Champs last year at under 16, and looking good doing it!
Q What is your favourite local race
A The National Road Series run by Cunga CC in Cong Co.Mayo, it was so well organised and the scenery was unreal

A The Tour de France watching Van Aert
Q Who is your favourite cyclist?
A Mathew Van Der Poel (After my dad of course!)

A Hustle – The new Adam Sandler movie

A “Team on the Run” – The Linda McCartney Story
Q What do you do for fun? (Not bike related)
A Play footy (soccer!) with my friends
Q Who is your greatest Insperation?
A My Mam & Dad -Mam was captain of the Irish basketball team and Dad was a professional cyclist, two time Ras winner and double Olympian
Q What are your expectations for the Junior Tour?
A This is the biggest stage race I will have done to-date. I would love 1 or 2 podium places on stages, I am a first year Junior so I would also like
