Blessed with this continuing spell of good weather, Tuesday nights league race was again held in blazing sunshine. Good to see our very own Damien Vereker who is aiming to represent Ireland in Rio at this years summer Paralympics on the tandem, piloted by the esteemed Martin Mizgajski of Rosbury racing, taking part and indeed taking victory on the night in a sprint finish. Sprinting on a regular bike is one thing, but one can not underestimate the skill, co-ordination and team work that is required by both parties on a tandem to get in perfect sync in order to get out of the saddles and sprint. Bravo guys.
